Terms of Service

Immortal Stoic is a mobile-first daily discipline app built around Stoic practice. It offers daily reflections and journaling, a quote and cinematic Archive, mental and physical trials, long-form campaigns, guided breathing in the Temple, missions, ranks and achievements, and a community of members organised into Legions and bonds.

By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Immortal Stoic.

Not professional advice. Immortal Stoic provides self-improvement and philosophy content, including physical and breathing exercises. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. Consult a qualified professional before starting any new physical or mental practice, and stop if you feel unwell.

You need an account to save progress. You must give accurate information, be old enough to use the service in your country (at least 13), keep your credentials secure, and remain responsible for everything done through your account. Guest mode is a preview only — it saves no progress and does not unlock paid content.

Usernames must be unique and must not impersonate another person, mislead others, or contain offensive or infringing material. We may reclaim usernames where necessary.

Immortal Stoic offers three tiers:

• Free — core daily practice: reflections, missions, trials, ranks and community basics, plus free-tier Archive content.
• Praetorian — a paid tier adding expanded Archive, Gallery and campaign access.
• Immortal — the highest paid tier, with the fullest access to Archive, Gallery, cinematic content and member features.

Tier contents, pricing and included features may change as the app develops. Access to paid content depends on your subscription being in good standing.

Paid memberships are recurring subscriptions billed in advance through Stripe. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges to your chosen payment method at the price and interval shown at checkout, until you cancel.

Prices are shown before purchase and may include applicable taxes. If a payment fails, access to paid features may be suspended until payment succeeds. We may change pricing with notice; changes apply to future billing periods.

You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future charges; your paid access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which your account reverts to the Free tier. Your account and content are not deleted by cancelling.

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide partial refunds for unused time.

You may choose to make a voluntary donation to support Immortal Stoic. Donations are processed by Stripe, are not a purchase of goods or services, grant no membership entitlements or additional access, and are non-refundable except where required by law. They are not tax-deductible charitable contributions.

You own your content. Journal entries, missions, messages, Legion details, reactions, feedback and uploads you create remain yours. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, host, reproduce and display that content solely to operate and improve the service — for example, saving your journal, delivering your messages, or showing your avatar to your Legion.

Journals and memoirs. Your reflections are private to your account and are not shown to other members. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Messages and Legions. Direct messages and Legion chat are shared with the people you send them to and are not end-to-end encrypted. Treat community spaces as semi-public. Legion leaders (General and equivalent roles) may manage membership, roles, invitations and Legion settings, and may disband a Legion.

You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to post it. We may remove content that breaches these Terms or the law.

Immortal Stoic is a community of people pursuing discipline and Stoic practice together. We do not tolerate harassment, abuse, threats, hate speech, bullying, sexual harassment, targeted intimidation, or any other objectionable or abusive behaviour.

Respect others. You must treat other members respectfully at all times — in direct messages, Legion chat, reactions, profile content, missions, feedback and anywhere else in the app.

Respect boundaries. Harassment, bullying, threats, abuse, hate speech, stalking, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact are prohibited. This applies to one-to-one messages, group spaces, and any content you create or share.

Do no harm. You may not post or send content that is intended to threaten, humiliate, exploit, shame, or harm another person — including content that pressures, coerces, or degrades someone, or that shares another person's private information without consent.

Report and block. If you experience or witness behaviour that violates these guidelines, use the in-app Report and Block features. Blocking stops a user from contacting you and severs any existing bond between you; reporting sends the matter to our stewards for review.

Enforcement. Reported content and accounts may be reviewed and removed. Violations may result in content removal, temporary restrictions on features such as messaging or Legion participation, account suspension, or permanent account termination. Immortal Stoic reserves the right to enforce these rules as needed to maintain a safe community.

Use Immortal Stoic in good faith: pursue your own practice, and treat other members with respect.

You must not:

• Harass, bully, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or engage in repeated unwanted contact with anyone, including via direct messages, Legion chat, reactions, or other members' content.
• Direct hate speech or hateful conduct at anyone based on race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, nationality, or any other protected or personal characteristic.
• Commit sexual harassment, make non-consensual sexual advances, or send sexual or sexually suggestive content another person does not want.
• Post or send content intended to threaten, humiliate, exploit, shame, coerce, or otherwise harm another person, or to share another person's private information without consent.
• Post illegal, sexually explicit, violent, hateful or infringing content.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Spam, advertise, solicit, or run scams and unsolicited promotions.
• Cheat or manipulate progression systems — falsifying XP, streaks, check-ins, campaign progress, achievements or Arena results.
• Attempt to breach security, bypass access controls or paid-tier gating, probe or scrape the service, or access data belonging to other members.
• Reverse engineer, disrupt, overload or interfere with the app, its backend or its infrastructure, including via bots or automated abuse.
• Redistribute, resell or publicly republish paid Archive, Gallery or cinematic content.
• Use the service to break any applicable law.

We may limit, suspend or terminate your access, remove content, revoke paid access, or reclaim a username if you breach these Terms, put other members or the service at risk, or where required by law. Where reasonable we will tell you why. Serious or repeated breaches may result in permanent termination without refund.

You may stop using the service at any time.

You can permanently delete your account from inside the app (Ego → The Archive → Delete my account) or at immortal-zen-forge.lovable.app/delete-account.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. It removes your account and associated personal app data and cancels any active subscription; no refund is given for the remainder of a paid period. Certain legally required financial records, and appropriately anonymized technical and feedback records, may be retained — see the Privacy Policy.

Immortal Stoic — including its name, branding, design, interface, code, written material, curated quote collections, cinematic content, Gallery artwork, badges and other assets — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law.

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app and the content your tier unlocks, for your own non-commercial practice. You may not copy, redistribute, sublicense, sell, publicly perform or create derivative works from that content without our written permission.

Public-domain philosophical texts remain in the public domain; our selection, translation, editing, presentation and design do not. Licensed third-party material remains the property of its owners and is used under licence. If you believe content in the app infringes your rights, contact us and we will investigate.

We work to keep Immortal Stoic available, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Outages, maintenance, third-party provider failures, bugs and data loss can occur. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited by law.

The app is actively developed. We may add, change, suspend or remove features, tiers, content, campaigns or community mechanics at any time. Where a change materially reduces what a paid tier includes, we will give reasonable notice and you may cancel.

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date above will change and material changes will be communicated in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, cancel and delete your account.
